Vote Vick

Official online voting for the 2005 Heisman Trophy is now underway (actually it has been underway for a few days, I'm just behind) at voteforheisman.com.

The top three vote getters will receive the equivalent of one first, second or third place vote in the official balloting.

Though I want Vick to win, I honestly believe USC's Reggie Bush is most deserving of the distinguished annual award.

With that being said though, to vote for #5, go to http://www.voteforheisman.com

On the year, Vick has led the Hokies to an 8-0 start and a No. 3 ranking in both national polls. He has completed 69 percent of his passes for 1,534 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 319 net yards and three scores.

Catch Vick in action as Tech hosts No. 6 Miami this Saturday in a 7:45 game that will be nationally televised on ESPN.

You can't possibly think Vick should get it over Vince?

Vince has 1835 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and has 725 rushing yards with 8 touchdowns.

Vick has 1534 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and has 319 rushing yards with 3 touchdowns.

So that is 2560 total yards and 24 total touchdowns for Vince versus 1853 total yards and 14 total touchdowns for Vick. Pretty clear who is better.

No, I do not think Marcus should win the Heisman over Vince Young. I never said that. Do I want people to vote for Vick? As a Hokie fan, yes.

Realistically speaking though, we all know the Heisman race is between Reggie Bush and Vince Young. Both players have had phenomenal years, and the separation between the two of them is very slim at this point in the year.

My prediction to win it all is Reggie -- I think putting up those types of numbers on a team that has the best chance of winning the national title only bolsters his chances of hoisting the Heisman come December.
